Facebook-apades

I joined Facebook back in 2009. Almost every important occasion in my life can be found on my albums or may status posts. Up to this day, I still find it amazing how this social media site has changed my life. It has changed people's lives, too, I am sure...especially that of people from my circle or what Facebook calls 'contacts'.

A girl from grade school who was always considered to be the prettiest because her dad is European is now a single mother. I could tell she gave birth to her beautiful daughter when she was a teenager (probably in college or so). She likes taking pictures of herself in a tank top with her cleavage out to be seen by the world and she likes to take out her emotions about her mother to the public.

An office professional from my previous work also like to give out TMI (too much information) about her brother, how she is sacrificing so much for her family, and her hatred for long-distance relationships. If I look at her page and be patient enough to read all her posts, I will be able to summarize her life, or just her public life (which has obviously become her outlet) into a short story.

There are couples who keep tab of everything they do on Facebook - they tell us where they go, how their short vacation went, who gave the expensive watch to who, and so on. It's fun to look at these kinds of stuff...what is not fun is when you learn that someone changed his/her status to 'single'.

There are so many characters and personalities that have appeared on Facebook since its conception. It surely gives people something to talk about.

Nowadays, FB became an addiction....... In the past, people hanged out in FB when they got free time....,but now they have nothing called free..... Most of the people ''waste'' their time in FB.

right. i am guilty of this too, sometimes I catch myself logging in to facebook as soon as i wake up! and just staring at pages without even doing anything. do you do this too or you are like some guys who are not big fans of FB? :D

Not a big fan of Facebook. hasn't changed my life in any real dramatic way. It has become a portal for most of my family members and friends in other states to take a more lazy approach to contacting me and vice versa.

It has also been very interesting how much (way to much over IMO) hype has been given by the media from around the world since the inception of an impending IPO for its forthcoming release, said to be worth billions.

FB is indeed a good way to communicate with family members especially if they're far away. Our family does that a lot too.

And anything worth that amount of money that's related to a website that's used by milions will definitely make news...it has a lot of 'sensation' in it. haha.

I see. Well, goodluck! It's never too late to change for good.

Hm...I am in 12th now..... I hope I can overcome the addiction...... Seems like HP is better than FB...... We can hang out and learn something new everyday.........Not a waste of time anyway.

I totally agree. My problem is, because I like HP too much, I tend to spend too much time logged on! Haha. But you're right, it's always good to learn something new. :)
